What We Do
We have donated food to Peabody families experiencing food insecurity since 2017.
Our mission at No Child Goes Hungry in Peabody is to ensure that every child in our community has access to nutritious meals on weekends and the resources they need to thrive.
Our Mission
We envision a future where every child in Peabody can grow, learn, and succeed without the burden of hunger. All children should be able to enjoy the nourishment they need to reach their full potential.
Our Vision
How We Help
-
Food
Every week volunteers pack and deliver enough food to provide local children with meals and snacks for the entire weekend. Our Summer Eats program continues to provide lunch for children under 18 during the summer months.
-
Supplies
Children need more than just food to truly thrive. We collect school supplies to distribute to children to prepare them for the first day of school. You can contribute to our annual Back-To-School Supply Drive every summer. We also collect and distribute hats, gloves, socks, and other winter clothes to keep children warm in the winter.
-
Joy
Every child deserves to feel the joy of holiday celebrations. Our volunteers collect and distribute Easter candy, Halloween goodie bags, and Christmas gifts to support families during these special times of the year. Look out for our annual Holiday Toy Drive in December!
FAQs
Are you an official nonprofit?
Yes! No Child Goes Hungry in Peabody Corp is a registered Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to eliminating child hunger in Peabody.
How did you get started?
This program was started with an idea from Michele Feld; that there is a need in our community to feed children who go hungry on weekends. She brought this idea to local Attorney Jarrod Hochman and together, with the assistance of an all-volunteer team, they have solicited and received donated food, storage space, work space to pack food bags, and delivery drivers that have allowed us to feed over 450 Peabody children each week.
How do you get funding?
100% of our funding comes from donations from individuals and the local business community.
Where do you get the food?
Haven From Hunger in Peabody donates food for meals and snacks. Local Girl Scout, Brownie, and Daisy troops regularly donate Girl Scout cookies. Brooksby Farm donates seasonal fruit, including apples and pears.
